Product description

Cylindrical AIRTOOL single-tooth cutter for machining PMMA and plastics.

AIRTOOLs are only required for the first milling step, which produces a particularly large amount of chips - roughing. They are therefore only available with cutting diameters from 2 mm. The standard tools are still used for the finer finishing operations.

For fully automatic production, the GQ Quattro Mill E4 and E5 have a separate space in the tool changer for the AIRTOOL. The color coding on the AIRTOOL also indicates the material for which the respective tool is used.

AIRTOOL technology
A unique innovation of the GQ Quattro Mill E4 and E5 milling machines is their freedom from compressed air. They require neither an external compressed air connection nor a built-in compressor. This is made possible by the AIRTOOL.

The turbine blades on the AIRTOOL generate a strong air flow towards the cutting edge of the tool due to the high speeds of the high frequency spindle, which keeps the workpiece free of chips and dust. These are removed by the connected vacuum cleaner. This eliminates the need for a compressed air connection and avoids the associated disadvantages. The E-series milling machines therefore offer maximum freedom in the choice of installation location and significantly lower operating costs.
